Softball Game Preview: Winchester Red & Black vs. Watertown Raiders

The Winchester Red & Black will venture away from home to square off against the Watertown Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Winchester and five for Watertown.

Winchester fell victim to Wakefield Memorial and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 22-0 to the Warriors. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Red & Black haven't been shut out since back in March.

Meanwhile, Watertown also failed to score in their most recent game. They came up short against Reading Memorial on Monday, falling 26-0.

Winchester's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Watertown, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Winchester took their win against Watertown when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 24-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red & Black since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
