Recap: Brandeis Broncos vs. Marshall Rams

The Brandeis Broncos waltzed into their game on Tuesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 58-29 victory over Marshall. Given Brandeis' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 39th, while Marshall is ranked 355th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Rian Forestier continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 18 rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Brandeis' points. Another player making a difference was Abigail Burdette, who scored 12 points.

Brandeis pushed their record up to 22-8 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.9 points per game. As for Marshall, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 17-14 record this season.

Brandeis will head out on the road to challenge Lee at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Lee's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three games. As for Marshall, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Clark at 7:30 p.m. Clark knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 matches -- so hopefully Marshall likes a good challenge.
