Baseball Recap: Kimball Snags Tenth Victory in Last 12 Games

There's no place like home for Kimball, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Pinkston Vikings with a sharp 10-3 victory on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Knights: when they faced off against the Vikings on Tuesday, they had to take a 5-4 loss.

Emiliano Maldonado made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Kimball: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 6-10 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Matthew Ramos, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was JuanDiego Perez, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Kimball was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pinkston only posted a batting average of .179.

Kimball is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Pinkston, they moved to 13-10 with that defeat, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.

Coming up, Kimball will challenge Wilmer-Hutchins at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pinkston, they will take on Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
