Preview: ED White Commanders vs. First Coast Buccaneers

The ED White Commanders will head out on the road to take on the First Coast Buccaneers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. ED White is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.

ED White pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 59-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Raines. While losing is never fun, ED White can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 531st, while Raines is ranked 63rd).

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Jamal Scott, who scored 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Sublett, who scored 16 points along with two steals.

Meanwhile, First Coast put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They claimed a resounding 71-30 victory over West Nassau at home. The win was just what First Coast needed coming off of a 76-49 defeat in their prior matchup.

ED White has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for First Coast, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

ED White lost to First Coast on the road by a decisive 52-37 margin in their previous meeting back in February of 2021. Thankfully for ED White, Dekembe Carn (who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 14 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
