It's playoff time, and Rickover Naval had no trouble coming through when it counted. Everything went their way against the Latin Romans on Monday as they made off with a 15-5 win. The Seadragons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by seven runs or more this season.
Rickover Naval got a massive performance out of Sofia Fuentes, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those four hits gave Fuentes a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Samantha Booth, who went 3-for-4 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs.
Rickover Naval always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .522 or higher in four consecutive games.
The victory got Rickover Naval back to even at 11-11. As for Latin, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.
Looking ahead, Rickover Naval will head out on the road to take on Westmont at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Seadragons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Sentinels have averaged an impressive 13.3 runs per game this season. Latin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
