Basketball Recap: Pusch Ridge Christian Academy's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

It was a proper cat-fight when Pusch Ridge Christian Academy challenged Show Low on Saturday. The Pusch Ridge Christian Academy Lions snuck past the Show Low Cougars with a 49-44 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Lions as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Pusch Ridge Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nicole NJoroge, who posted 14 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Hannah Johnson, who scored nine points and six steals.

Pusch Ridge Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Show Low's loss came despite strong showings from Raquel Wilson and Jaylee Boyce. Wilson earned 18 points in addition to seven steals and five boards, while Boyce went 6 of 10 en route to 15 points and eight rebounds. That was a full 40.9% of Show Low's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points.

Pusch Ridge Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Show Low, they dropped their record down to 9-5 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Pusch Ridge Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 44-38 victory against Sabino on the 14th. Show Low has also already played their next match, a 60-18 win against Florence on the 9th.
