Preview: Weiser Wolverines vs. Fruitland Grizzlies
Weiser and Fruitland are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The Weiser Wolverines will head out on the road to take on the Fruitland Grizzlies at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Idaho (Weiser is ranked 44th, while Fruitland is ranked 64th).
Weiser posted their biggest victory since December 14, 2023 last Tuesday. They blew past Homedale 57-37. Weiser pushed the score to 49-24 by the end of the third, a deficit Homedale cut but never quite recovered from.
Meanwhile, Fruitland earned a 49-41 win over McCall-Donnelly on Tuesday.
Weiser pushed their record up to 14-4 with that victory, which was their 11th straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.5 points per game. As for Fruitland, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season.
Weiser came up short against Fruitland in their previous matchup on January 9th, falling 51-46. Can Weiser avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
