Basketball Recap: Perry Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Perry lost to Lakeside back in February of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Perry Pirates walked away with a 73-66 victory over the Lakeside Dragons. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 221st, while the Dragons are ranked 764th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win made it two in a row for Perry and bumps their season record up to 12-5. As for Lakeside, their loss dropped their record down to 3-15.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Perry will venture away from home to take on West Geauga at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Geauga will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Perry surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lakeside, they will head out on the road to face off against Geneva at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Lakeside's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests.
