Softball Game Preview: Bangor Christian Patriots vs. Machias Bulldogs

The Bangor Christian Patriots will challenge the Machias Bulldogs at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Bangor Christian took a 11-run loss the last time they faced off against Sumner, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Patriots won by a run and slipped past the Tigers 12-11. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Patriots have posted since May 1, 2024.

Meanwhile, Machias is still undefeated this season after their game against Narraguagus on Wednesday, but Narraguagus came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Bulldogs skirted past the Knights 6-4. The game was the first time the Bulldogs have beaten the Knights on their field since May 7, 2021.

Machias pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Bangor Christian, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
