Football Game Preview: Shore Regional Blue Devils vs. Monmouth Regional Falcons

Shore Regional has gone a perfect 4-0 against Monmouth Regional recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Blue Devils will look to defend their home field against the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Saturday, Shore Regional didn't have too much trouble with Colts Neck as they won 35-21. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blue Devils.

Meanwhile, Monmouth Regional won against Manchester Township last Friday with 21 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Falcons beat Keansburg by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 21-6. The win continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won three in a row.

Monmouth Regional's win came from a few key players Shore Regional will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ryan Corwin, who threw for 216 yards and three TDs. His passing game has become a key predictor of Monmouth Regional's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. Tyler Gustafson helped Corwin out on the ground, rushing for 141 yards.

Monmouth Regional's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Shore Regional, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

Everything came up roses for Shore Regional against Monmouth Regional in their previous matchup back in October of 2023, as the squad secured a 28-0 victory. Will the Blue Devils repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
