Volleyball Preview: Lewis County Minutemen vs. Grafton Bearcats

Lewis County has enjoyed a seven-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will head out to square off against the Grafton Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Grafton took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Lewis County, who comes in off a win.

Last Thursday, Lewis County earned a 2-0 win over East Fairmont.

Lewis County's not only won, but also showed off some consistency: keeping East Fairmont between 20 and 21 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Grafton was not able to break out of their rough patch two weeks ago as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They fell 3-1 to North Marion.

While Grafton ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 20 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 23-25, 25-20, 25-22.

Despite the defeat, Grafton saw an underclassman step up: Liya Clemm had 25 digs. Those 25 digs set a new season-high mark for Clemm.
