Football Recap: East Tigers vs. Whetstone Braves

East won the last time they faced Whetstone and things went their way on Friday too. The Tigers took down the Braves 29-12. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 233rd, while the Braves are ranked 549th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

East's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dominique Edwards, who rushed for 65 yards and one touchdown, and also picked up 38 receiving yards. Dior Hansard was another key signal caller, throwing for 205 yards and one TD on only 17 passes.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to East's defense and their three sacks. Marqwez Mattox was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself.
