Basketball Recap: Mira Costa Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Redondo Union

On Friday, Mira Costa faced Redondo Union in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Mira Costa Mustangs fell 76-64 to the Redondo Union Sea Hawks. It was the first time this season that the Mustangs let down their fans at home.

Mira Costa's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-2. As for Redondo Union, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-2.

Mira Costa will venture away from home to take on Wiseburn- Da Vinci at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mira Costa knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Wiseburn- Da Vinci likes a good challenge. Redondo Union has already played their next game, a 92-75 win against Los Alamitos on the 18th.
