Softball Recap: Rensselaer Central Bombers vs. West Lafayette Red Devils
Rensselaer Central won the last time they faced West Lafayette and things went their way on Saturday too. The Bombers walked away with a 9-5 victory over the Red Devils. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bombers.
Kami Davis made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Davis was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two).

In other batting news, Stacia Crabtree was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Rylie Moore, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Rensselaer Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .424. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Lafayette only posted a batting average of .267.
Rensselaer Central's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for West Lafayette, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.
Looking ahead, Rensselaer Central will be playing in front of their home fans against Winamac at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Bombers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for West Lafayette, they are taking a road trip to face off against Benton Central at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
