Basketball Game Preview: Fountain Inn Fury vs. Southside Tigers

The Fountain Inn Fury will face off against the Southside Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Southside took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Fountain Inn, who comes in off a win.

On Tuesday, Fountain Inn got the win against Emerald by a conclusive 71-48. The Fury pushed the score to 55-30 by the end of the third, a deficit the Vikings cut but never quite recovered from.

Meanwhile, Southside played a tough match on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Wren, falling 80-43. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 230th, while the Hurricanes are ranked ninth).

Fountain Inn has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points per game. As for Southside, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.

Fountain Inn was able to grind out a solid victory over Southside in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, winning 58-47. Will Fountain Inn repeat their success, or does Southside have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
