Softball Recap: Edison Triumphs

Edison proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by ten) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Wheeling Central Catholic Maroon Knights 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted since April 23, 2025.

Bella Cronin was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Sophia Henderson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Edison kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 6-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Edison's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Wheeling Central Catholic, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-4.

Edison has already played their next game, a 10-5 win against Weir on the 16th. As for Wheeling Central Catholic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 13-5 victory against Madonna on the 16th.
