Soccer Game Preview: Gila Ridge vs. Verrado

The Gila Ridge Hawks will take on the Verrado Vipers in a tournament on Friday. One thing working in Gila Ridge's favor is that they have posted at least four goals in their last three matchups.

Last Friday, Gila Ridge had just enough and edged Dobson out 4-3. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 17th, while the Mustangs are ranked 60th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Verrado fought the good fight in their overtime game against Desert Ridge two weeks ago but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Jaguars by a score of 2-1.

Gila Ridge's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1. As for Verrado, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2-3.
