Soccer Game Preview: West Springfield vs. Robinson

The West Springfield Spartans will venture away from home to challenge the Robinson Rams at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. West Springfield's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

West Springfield fell victim to West Potomac and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They came up short against the Wolverines, falling 5-0. That's two games in a row now that West Springfield have lost by exactly five goals.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Robinson's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They and Lake Braddock finished up their matchup with a 1-1 draw. The result kept Robinson happy, as they haven't lost a game since April 1st.

West Springfield's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. With that draw, Robinson's record moves to 6-3-2.

West Springfield couldn't quite get it done against Robinson when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Spartans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
