Softball Recap: Broadneck Starts Season with Win at Home

Broadneck took care of business in their home opener on Saturday. They came out on top against the Old Mill Patriots by a score of 7-2. The Bruins haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Keira Plumley was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Cayleigh Biermann, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Broadneck was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Old Mill only posted a batting average of .185.

Old Mill's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Broadneck will challenge rival Annapolis at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Old Mill is set to face off against their familiar foe Crofton on Monday.
