Recap: Los Angeles CES Unicorns vs. Cleveland Cavaliers

With a playoff game on the line, the Los Angeles CES Unicorns rose to the challenge on Friday. They came out on top against the Cavaliers by a score of 59-52. Winning may never get old, but Los Angeles CES sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Several Cavaliers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Roman Finney, who scored 12 points along with three steals. Jacob Mathis was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds.

Cleveland's lineup was just a bit different on Friday as Mathis got a bit more time on the court (23 vs. his season average of 9.36). Mathis made the most of the opportunity, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds. A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.

Los Angeles CES has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-10 record this season. As for Cleveland, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-10.

Los Angeles CES's road trip will continue as they head out to face Chatsworth at 2:30 p.m. on February 17th. Chatsworth knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 16 contests -- so hopefully Los Angeles CES likes a good challenge. Cleveland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
