Preview: Wolcott Eagles vs. Torrington Raiders
Wolcott is 2-8 against the Raiders since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Wolcott Eagles will look to defend their home court against the Torrington Raiders at 7:00 p.m. Wolcott is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.
Last Friday, Wolcott took a serious blow against the Chargers, falling 79-36.
Meanwhile, Torrington pushed their score all the way to 69 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 79-69 hit to the loss column at the hands of Waterbury Career Academy. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Torrington in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite their defeat, Torrington saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Luca White, who scored 23 points along with eight assists, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Logan Tucciarone, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
Wolcott's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Torrington, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.
