Football Recap: Culver Community Starts Season with Victory Against Attica

Culver Community had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They enjoyed a cozy 26-7 win over the Attica Red Ramblers. That's more bragging rights for the Cavaliers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Culver Community's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Caleb McCuen, who rushed for 42 yards and one touchdown.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Culver Community proved: they limited Attica to a paltry -0.5 yards per carry. The Cavaliers didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged six.

Culver Community didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Jonas McCuen.

Despite the loss, Attica still got an impressive performance from Tristen Miller, who picked up 116 receiving yards and one TD.

Looking ahead, Culver Community will take on West Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Attica, they will square off against Tri-County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
