Baseball Recap: Gruver Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Gruver and Stamford squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Gruver had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 2-1. Unfortunately, that's the first time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, with their most recent defeat being a 7-6 loss on Saturday.

Gruver's defeat dropped their record down to 21-2. As for Stamford, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Stamford beat Gruver by a score of 7-6 later that day.
