Softball Recap: Peru Nighthawks vs. Ticonderoga Sentinels
Peru had lost three straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 7-7 to make it four. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ticonderoga Sentinels. The game marked the first time this season in which the Nighthawks were not able to get on the board.
As for Ticonderoga, the win keeps they at an undefeated 15-0. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 16.8 runs this season.
For Ticonderoga's part, not much got past Myleigh Drinkwine, who gave up just six hits and racked up six Ks to keep Peru off the board.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Addison Munson, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabelle Burroughs, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Looking ahead, Peru will venture away from home to face off against Saranac at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Ticonderoga does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
