Soccer Game Preview: West Rutland vs. Proctor

The West Rutland Golden Horde will head out to face off against the Proctor Phantoms at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.

West Rutland is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Vermont's top teams: Arlington Memorial, who was ranked 12th at the time (West Rutland was ranked 19th). The Golden Horde fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday. Having soared to a lofty five goals in the game before, West Rutland's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Proctor had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They never let Rivendell Academy get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. That's two games straight that Proctor have won by exactly three goals.

Proctor's win bumped their record up to 6-2-1. As for West Rutland, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season.
