Basketball Game Preview: Bishop Kenny Crusaders vs. Nease Panthers

The Bishop Kenny Crusaders will square off against the Nease Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bishop Kenny is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.3 points per game this season.

Bishop Kenny is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Episcopal School of Jacksonville: they outscored them in every quarter. Bishop Kenny put the hurt on Episcopal School of Jacksonville with a sharp 38-16 win on Friday. The Crusaders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Bishop Kenny found their leader in sophomore Kathleen Crawley, who went 6 for 11 on her way to 16 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Crawley has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Mayer, who posted four points in addition to six assists and three steals.

Bishop Kenny smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Nease, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They took down Menendez 46-31 on Friday.

Bishop Kenny is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.8 points per game. As for Nease, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.

Bishop Kenny beat Nease 55-47 in their previous matchup back in January of 2021. Will Bishop Kenny repeat their success, or does Nease have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
