Baseball Recap: Shorewood Victorious

Shorewood lost to Lake Stevens back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. Shorewood came out on top against Lake Stevens by a score of 9-6.

Joey Facilla made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Facilla was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jameson Connolly, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Lorenzo Jaramillo, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Shorewood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Shorewood's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Lake Stevens, their record now sits at 2-2.

Coming up, Shorewood will challenge Lynnwood at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Shorewood is facing Lynnwood at the right time seeing as Lynnwood is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Lake Stevens, they will square off against Kamiak at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kamiak will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Lake Stevens surely won't give up without a fight.
