After a string of five wins, Platte Valley's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 7-3 to the Valley Vikings. The Broncos were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Platte Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hazen Weber, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

The defeat was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 7-3. As for Valley, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Platte Valley will head out to face off against Weld Central at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rebels have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.09 runs per game on average), something the Broncos will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Valley, they will head out on the road to challenge Strasburg at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Indians have averaged an impressive 9.6 runs per game this season.
