Recap: St. Pauls Bulldogs vs. Red Springs Red Devils

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the St. Pauls Bulldogs ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They snuck past Red Springs with a 68-63 win. Winning may never get old, but St. Pauls sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.

St. Pauls found their leader in underclassman Tyson Thompson, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. Thompson hasn't dropped below two blocks for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Theophilus (theo) Setzer, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.

Despite the loss, Red Springs had strong showings from Makhi Arthur, who scored 23 points along with four steals, and Kaedon Porter, who almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine rebounds. Porter is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 18 or more in the last eight games he's played.

The win got St. Pauls back to even at 10-10. As for Red Springs, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Pauls will take on Fairmont at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Pauls is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 51.4 points per game this season. As for Red Springs, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Clinton at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th.
