Rock Ridge (Ashburn, Va.) junior Ben Wright also plays a little receiver and showed his athleticism on long touchdown run.
Video: Bad snap turns into long touchdown run
Ben Wright turns a negative into a major positive for Rock Ridge.
Punters have game, too.
Look at
Ben Wright of
Rock Ridge (Ashburn, Va.) for proof.
Friday night against Loudoun Valley (Purcellville), the 6-foot-3, 185-pound junior fielded a snap over his head, wound up near his own 15-yard line, then gave the crowd their money's worth.
Wright also plays a little wide receiver for the Phoenix so he's not entirely out of his element with the ball in his hands. But falling on the ball wouldn't have been a bad play there so his improvisational skills make the effort extra special.
Rock Ridge suffered a 49-34 loss, but we're pretty sure Wright will remember that play for as long as he lives.
