The Nashoba Regional Wolves will venture away from home to take on the Westborough Rangers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Nashoba Regional is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

Nashoba Regional's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Groton-Dunstable 8-0.

Jake Schwartz was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nikhil Siano, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Those hits were his first of the season. Daniel Gudin was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Nashoba Regional always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Westborough fell victim to Leominster and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Blue Devils, falling 7-0. The Rangers haven't had much luck with the Blue Devils recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Westborough's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Nashoba Regional, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Nashoba Regional skirted past Westborough 4-3 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
