The Aurora Christian Eagles will head out to square off against the Marmion Cadets at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Aurora Christian came out on top against Metea Valley on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run first inning. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 12-4 margin over the Mustangs.

Nolan Robertson made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 4-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Cristian Huerta and Noah Hensley did most of the damage at the plate: Huerta went 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Hensley went 2-for-4 with two RBI. That's the most RBI Hensley has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Jack Burns, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.
Aurora Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Metea Valley only managed seven hits.
Meanwhile, Marmion had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They blew past the Knights 11-4. The result was nothing new for the Cadets, who have now won 11 games by six runs or more so far this season.
Marmion also got a great performance from Charlie Schweiner as he pitched five innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ethan Flores, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. Nate Bostrand was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
Aurora Christian is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-14 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Marmion, they pushed their record up to 20-11-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
Aurora Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against Marmion when the teams last played back in March of 2024, sneaking past 13-12. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
