Baseball Recap: Denver South Picks Up Seventh Straight Win at Home

There's no place like home for Denver South, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Denver East Angels on Monday. That's more bragging rights for the Ravens, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Hunter Vitello spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on one hit and racked up nine Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Denver South saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leo Royer, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI.

Denver South pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Denver East, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Denver South didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 9-1 loss against Denver North on the 8th. As for Denver East, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 8-0 defeat against Vista PEAK Prep on the 8th.
