Softball Recap: Saratoga Central Catholic Triumphs

The Saratoga Central Catholic Saints beat the Waterford-Halfmoon Fordians 13-9 on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Saints.

Paige Jaffe made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over 6.1 innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Allison Fuller was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Elise Guidon was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Saratoga Central Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matchups.

Saratoga Central Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Waterford-Halfmoon, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
