Baseball Recap: Gustine Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

If Gustine was riding high fresh off their 10-0 takedown of Denair last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Reds fell just short of the Coyotes by a score of 8-7 on Thursday. The Reds were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Coyotes earlier this season, when they won 10-0.

Mike Saaranzin was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Avery Ethridge also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Gustine's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-5. As for Denair, they now have a winning record of 6-5-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Gustine will take on rival Le Grand at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Reds 3.8, the Bulldogs 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Denair is set to challenge their familiar foe Waterford at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
