Softball Recap: Chicopee Comp Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Chicopee Comp waltzed into their matchup on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Westfield Technical Academy Tigers with a sharp 25-10 victory. Considering the Colts have won seven contests by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Chicopee Comp got a massive performance out of Alexis Wojcik, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most hits Wojcik has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Cruz, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one double.

Chicopee Comp was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .371 or higher in three consecutive games.

Chicopee Comp's win bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Westfield Technical Academy, they dropped their record down to 2-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Chicopee Comp will welcome Southwick Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Colts' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 11.7 runs per game this season. As for Westfield Technical Academy, they will head out to face off against Springfield Renaissance at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Springfield Renaissance has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.6 runs per game on average), something Westfield Technical Academy will no doubt try to take advantage of.
