Softball Recap: Lenoir City Extends Winning Streak to Three

Lenoir City waltzed into their match on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Knoxville Catholic Fighting Irish by a score of 13-8. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Fighting Irish back in March, they had to take a 15-10 loss.

Kylee Hanson was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Sophie Reed was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Lenoir City's victory bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Knoxville Catholic, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season.

Lenoir City will venture away from home to face off against Heritage at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Mountaineers will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Knoxville Catholic, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Notre Dame at 5:30 p.m.
