Soccer Recap: Westlake Comes Up Short

Westlake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 4-1 to the Mountain Ridge Sentinels. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Mountain Ridge this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 back in August.

Westlake's goal came courtesy of Kennedy Prestwich, who's now up to 11 this season.

Westlake's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Mountain Ridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Westlake will square off against rival Riverton at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Mountain Ridge is set to take on their familiar foe Herriman at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
