Baseball Game Preview: Bracken County Polar Bears vs. Lewis County Lions

Bracken County is 1-9 against Lewis County since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Polar Bears will look to defend their home field against the Lions at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Bracken County is headed into Wednesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game on Tuesday. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 9-7 heartbreaker at the hands of Bourbon County.

Noah Bachman put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Bachman wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cole Sharp, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. Another was Caleb Emery, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Lewis County took on Paintsville on Thursday. The Lions lost 12-2 to the Tigers. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lewis County's loss dropped their record down to 5-20. As for Bracken County, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-19.
