On Friday Eagle Valley's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Conifer Lobos, sneaking past 27-24. For the Devils, this counts as revenge for the 28-23 victory the Lobos walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Eagle Valley was led to victory by Nathan Leeper and Xander Deherrera. Leeper gained 125 total yards and a touchdown, while Deherrera picked up 56 receiving yards and one TD. Leeper didn't just play on offense: he also forced one fumble and made ten total tackles (1.0 for loss).

Although Conifer took the loss, they still got scores from Mason Harrington, Solomon Washer, and Dillon Warner.

Eagle Valley's record is now 6-0. As for Conifer, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Looking ahead, Eagle Valley is taking a road trip to square off against Steamboat Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Devils will need to watch out since the Sailors have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Conifer, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Glenwood Springs at 7:00 p.m. The Demons' defense has only allowed 15 points per game this season, so the Lobos' offense will have their work cut out for them.
