Recap: Hickory Hawks vs. Grassfield Grizzlies
The Hickory Hawks''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They took a 21-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of Grassfield. The match was a 7-7 toss-up at halftime, but Hickory was outscored by Grassfield in the second.
Hickory's defeat was their fifth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-6. As for Grassfield, their victory on Friday bumped their record up to 3-4.
Hickory will be playing in front of their home fans against Lakeland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lakeland comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 12 points in their last seven games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Grassfield, they will head out on the road to face off against Nansemond River at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Nansemond River comes into the match much higher ranked than Grassfield in Virginia (Nansemond River is ranked 35th, while Grassfield is ranked 145th).
