Softball Recap: Los Banos Comes Up Short

After flying high against El Capitan last Thursday, Los Banos came back down to earth. The Tigers fell just short of the Buhach Colony Thunder by a score of 8-7 on Monday. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Thunder earlier this season, when they won 6-5.

Avery Vierra was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring four runs while going 4-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Shayla Hernandez, who went 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Los Banos has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for Buhach Colony, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Los Banos will challenge Golden Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Buhach Colony, they will take on Atwater at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Thunder's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 9.1 runs per game this season.
