Volleyball Recap: South Garner Takes a Loss + How To Watch

South Garner was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Smithfield-Selma Spartans. If the Titans were looking for revenge after losing 3-2 to the Spartans when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-21, 22-25, 25-13.

Smithfield-Selma's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Karmen Cyrus, who had 20 assists and five aces. Cyrus is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Joy Williams, who had six aces.

South Garner's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Smithfield-Selma, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-5.

South Garner wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Cleveland on the 28th. As for Smithfield-Selma, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Clayton on the 28th.
