Volleyball Recap: Winfield Generals vs. Nitro Wildcats

With a playoff game on the line, Winfield rose to the challenge on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Nitro Wildcats as they made off with a 3-0 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Generals also won the last time the pair played back in September.

Winfield was especially dominant in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-17, 25-19.

Brooklyn Cole paced Winfield's offense, picking up 17 kills. Cole got some help from Ava Tue and her 22 assists.

Winfield has been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 26-13-4 record this season. As for Nitro, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 16 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-25-1 record this season.

After both having extra time off, Winfield and Chapmanville Regional will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Winfield will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. As for Nitro, they are on the road again on Thursday to play Wayne at 6:30 p.m.
