Softball Recap: Christiansburg's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

Christiansburg dropped their record down to 9-5 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins at home. They lost 13-3 to the Abingdon Falcons. The Blue Demons were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Falcons earlier this season, when they won 16-15.

Addison Reasor and Reagan Smith did some serious damage despite the final result: Reasor got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run and one double, while Smith went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

As for Abingdon, their record now sits at 18-3. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 games by six runs or more this season.

On Abingdon's side, they let Muriel Dillow and Mariah Branscomb run wild. Dillow went 1-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double, while Branscomb went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits Branscomb has posted since back in April. Maggie Crabtree was another key player, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs.

Looking ahead, Christiansburg will be playing at home against William Byrd at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Abingdon, they will square off against Ridgeview at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The last four games the Wolfpack have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
