Baseball Game Preview: Bradford Red Devils vs. Fayette Ware Wildcats

The Bradford Red Devils will take on the Fayette Ware Wildcats at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Bradford turned things around against Madison on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Mustangs. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Red Devils have posted since April 26, 2024.

Landon Hagan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on two hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Brodie McDaniel was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. He also hit a triple, marking his first of the season.

Meanwhile, Fayette Ware was not the first on the board last Wednesday, but they got there more often. They put the hurt on Middle College with a sharp 14-5 victory.

The team relied heavily on Aiden Ross, who scored three runs and stole six bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cooper Dennie, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Fayette Ware's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Bradford, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
