Preview: Albemarle Bulldogs vs. North Stanly Comets
Albemarle is 2-8 against North Stanly since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Albemarle Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the North Stanly Comets at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Albemarle can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Gray Stone Day 67-40 on the road. The win was just what Albemarle needed coming off of a 88-47 defeat in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, North Stanly waltzed into their match on Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 77-74 victory over Mount Pleasant.
Albemarle's victory ended a nine-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-19. As for North Stanly, they pushed their record up to 17-5 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Albemarle came up short against North Stanly in their previous meeting back in January, falling 78-67. Can Albemarle avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
