Baseball Recap: Luther's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Luther can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They walked away with a 7-2 win over the Hinton Comets. For the Lions, this counts as revenge for the 10-2 victory the Comets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2023.

Aden Henke made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Luther got a big performance out of Brody Becker, who scored a run while going 1-for-5. Brady Roy was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Luther's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Hinton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Luther will welcome Southwest Covenant at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hinton, they will head out on the road to face off against Crescent at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
