Baseball Recap: Amboy Makes It Four in a Row at Home

Amboy made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Oregon, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Amboy never let Oregon get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Monday. For the Clippers, this counts as revenge for the 12-1 victory the Hawks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Carson Barlow made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Barlow wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Quinn Leffelman, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Amboy's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Oregon, they moved to 3-3 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Amboy will venture away from home to square off against Forreston at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Amboy's pitchers better be ready for this one: Forreston has averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season. As for Oregon, they will take on Morrison at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Morrison has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed seven runs per game on average), something Oregon will no doubt try to take advantage of.
