Basketball Game Preview: Palo Duro Dons vs. Alamogordo Tigers

The Palo Duro Dons will be taking part in a tournament against the Alamogordo Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Palo Duro will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.

Last Friday, Palo Duro made easy work of Lubbock and carried off a 61-38 victory. Given the Dons' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Westerners are ranked 746th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Alamogordo played a tough match on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Roswell 68-33. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Tigers have suffered against the Coyotes since December 18, 2018.

This is the second loss in a row for Alamogordo and nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for Palo Duro, their win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-1.
